How do I rent a Scooter

Do you have a rental minimum?

Yes and No. We rent our mobility scooters by the day, week, or month. However, we can usually accommodate hourly or half-day rentals. Contact us for more details.

Do you deliver the scooter?

Yes, we deliver your scooter and pick it up free of charge within Galveston City limits.

How long does the battery last?

Typically, the batteries last a full day. However, it depends on how much you use the scooter, the weight of the rider, and the speed at which the scooter is operated.  Visit our Troubleshooting page for more details. 

How do I charge the scooter?

You plug the 3-prong portion of the charger into the battery and plug the other end into any standard outlet. We recommend you charge the battery overnight. 

How do I transport the Scooter?

The scooters disassemble into multiple parts that can be easily transported in a vehicle. Here is a video that shows you how.

Where can I ride the scooter?

You can ride the scooter anywhere but, it is not intended to be ridden up or down steep inclines, rough terrain such as bums, grass, rocks, or sand.

Talk about accommodating!! Needed a scooter last minute so our sister who has mobility issues could join us on the sea wall area and the strand. Tyler showed up promptly and gave us a tutorial of how to break the scooter down in order to load it in our vehicle as we went to the two different areas. he made the entire experience so simple and he’s one of the most pleasant people I’ve met in customer service in a very long time. Don’t hesitate to use this young man’s company! He’s great! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have used Gulf Coast Mobility twice now and I don't know how the service could have been better. Tyler will accommodate whatever your schedule and needs are. I rented a scooter for our New Years family trip. Once we got to The Strand. We realized that we needed another one. I texted Tyler and within 15 minutes we were on our way. Reasonable prices and very easy with the convent drop off and pick up progess. Tyler deserves 10 stars. Thanks again.

Absolutely amazing service! Delivered and picked up and was super friendly. Will be a returning customer for future rentals. Scooter was in excellent condition and held a charge the whole time. After 3+ hours of use the battery had hardly lost charge. Totally recommend these guys if you need a mobility scooter.

Here’s the deal - if you’re looking to see if Gulf Coast Mobility is a standup company, I’m here to tell you they are the real deal AND have gone above & beyond for me & my family. Hence, I have no doubt they will do the same for you! Our story: With only a day to spare to find a mobility scooter for my 81yo FIL, who is hard of walking long distances w/ mild dementia, before our cruise was to take off after landing in Texas, I looked online & there was availability. However, with few ratings, I wanted to call to confirm they were legit & actually had scooters available, just in case since it was last minute. Tyler professionally answered the phone, patiently took all my questions, worked with his team to get me all squared away & even made sure I got the $35/day rate, which is their deal when renting over 4+ days. It was better than the rate that the cruise ship’s offer, so everything was going peachy. He communicated with me on drop off details throughout the day, & promptly showed up & walked my FIL & hubby over the details of charging, folding & moving around in the scooter. Unfortunately, we had an issue with my FIL bringing an ID that was expired, which led to us not being able to board the ship. We’re still devastated, but I’m writing this review bc Tyler kindly came back, showed us compassion, & offered to give us a refund. Although I know this review is long, I believe people like Tyler & their small family businesses deserve more business. They are a solid company with compassionate & communicative human beings. If you’re looking for someone to take care of your family’s accessibility & mobility needs in Galveston or with any of the cruises heading out of the area, give them a call. I trust they will not disappoint & will treat your family well.

Our family of 12 just spent the day at Moody Gardens, and I rented a scooter for my Dad. He uses a walker but cannot walk distances. The rented scooter was absolutely a great decision, and allowed him to participate with us. Tyler was fabulous! He responded to emails quickly, met us at our car for delivery and pick up. Tyler and everyone at Gulf Coast Mobility are honest, friendly people who just want to make your experience a great one. Price was reasonable. Service exceptional!
